** Deadline Extended** Entries now open for the 2024 Adult County Championships

Entries are now open for the 2024 County Championships.

 

If you’re unfamiliar with the County Champs, here is some background.  Throughout the country each year, a week at the end of August is dedicated  to counties running their annual County Championships. Also commonly referred to as the County Closed, it’s a chance to compete against other players from the same county for the title of county champion.

 

In Hertfordshire we hold the event at Rickmansworth Tennis Club. While most junior events (from 8U to 18U) are usually well subscribed, we haven’t had the same uptake of entries in the Open category (Men’s singles and doubles, Ladies singles and doubles and Mixed doubles) in recent years.

 

After changing the format last year the 2024 Open events will again be played as postal tournaments (i.e. matches will either be played at your venue of choice or your opponent’s) over the summer, with only the finals being taken to Rickmansworth at the end of August.  Click on the link below for details and your chance to enter.

 

 

You’ll see from the link that in addition to the Over 35 and Over 50 events introduced last year we have an Over 60 event  this year which we hope will attract more of our fantastic senior players.
