Hertfordshire Lawn Tennis Association (“Herts Tennis”) works with the national governing body (the LTA) for the governance and development of tennis activities across the county.
We support tennis venues, the coaching workforce, players, parents, the education sector and community venues in Hertfordshire. We work to get more people playing tennis more often.

Herts Tennis Grants & Loan Scheme
Herts Tennis are pleased to offer a range of grants and interest free loans available to registered venues that meet the criteria, subject to approval. Grants are available for Small Facility Development (for clubs with 4 courts or fewer), Girls into Tennis/Women into Coaching programmes, Disability Tennis Development, Increasing Participation (including match funding for Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekend/Open Days and Developing School-Club Links. Interest Free loans of up to £5,000, repayable over a five year period are available.

Herts LTA Monthly Draw (200 Club)
The County runs a 200 Club to increase the funds available to support tennis at both junior and senior level. The 200 Club is open to all members of affiliated (registered) bodies and to individuals that are interested in supporting the aims of the county. To join the 200 Club and be entered into the monthly prize draw each member pays a subscription of £1 per month or £12 per year which is payable by standing order. A member may increase their chances of winning by holding more shares at £1 per month per share. Each month a draw will take place for prizes for a minimum of £40.00, £30.00, £20.00, £10.00, £10.00 Twice per year there will be a prize of £100.00 In addition to this there is a ballot for members who are also affiliated (registered) to the county via club membership or individually for Wimbledon tickets (paid for separately). Our Staff
Carole Draper – Community and Office Manager
Carole joined the county team in 2007. Coming from an administrative and accounting background her primary responsibilities are finance, venue support, venue registration, club development, development of disability and community tennis, coach support and county court hire.
Jennifer Keates – Mini Tennis Coordinator
As a volunteer in the eighties Jennifer organised the development of grass roots programmes in Hertfordshire including the introduction of the Short Tennis programme. She was involved in the development of Mini Tennis at a National level and appointed County Mini Tennis Coach for Hertfordshire. Jennifer is currently involved with the Pathway to Tarbes, HIT programme and Mini Tennis competition programmes.
Sharon Evans – Administration
Sharon joined Herts Tennis at the beginning of 2016 as office support. Her key areas of working are accounts, county court hire and general office admin.
Teresa Lilley – Herts Tennis County Performance Manager
Teresa joined the county office in 2018. Having previously co-ordinated the provision of County training and managing the junior County Cup teams as well as having a successful coaching career, she has extended her role to include working with clubs and coaches to enable the identification and progression of junior players from across the County.
Tessa Terry – County Safeguarding Officer
Tessa has been a volunteer in tennis for over 15 years in a number of previous roles to include Junior Representative and Welfare Officer and is currently Chairperson at Gosling Tennis Centre where she also co-ordinates Club Leagues and Tournaments. She previously held senior positions in Education and Banking.
