SUPPORTING LTA REGISTERED VENUES IN HERTFORDSHIRE
Welcome to the Herts Tennis family and thank you for registering your venue with the LTA. A major benefit of registration is that by also being a member of Herts Tennis, your local County Association, your venue will be supported by Herts Tennis, the local volunteer arm of the LTA.
What we do: Support Clubs, Venues and Organisations including your players, coaches, officials and volunteers.
Herts Tennis is committed to opening tennis up, making it relevant, accessible, welcoming and enjoyable to all. Our activity covers all areas of the game (including Padel!) and we are proud to support our clubs, venues and organisations. Safeguarding runs through everything we do and we have a dedicated County Safeguarding Officer to support venues and their welfare officers with visits and best practice guidance. We work with the LTA Regional team to provide relevant forums, webinars and networking events to clubs, venues, coaches, welfare officers and volunteers, and offer grant and loan funding to help with facility and project development.
Herts Tennis has fantastic competition opportunities for players, including county teams from 8&U to 75+, county championships and team interclub leagues from 8&U upwards, countywide and all year round. There are also Team Challenge and Play Your Way to Wimbledon events throughout the county. We support our performance players through the LTA Player Pathway 10&U Programme and run county training for 8&U to 18&U players. Many of our clubs are additionally supported through our Herts Inspires Tennis network and our County Performance Manager works with venues and coaches to develop programmes and advise on the player pathway.
Our volunteers and professional coach and official workforces are vital to the success of tennis in Herts. We provide comprehensive coach education and development opportunities through courses and local networks, and offer support for competition officials and promotion of official development courses. There is an annual awards programme for all our unsung heroes culminating in a County Awards Presentation Event to recognise and reward participation and achievement among clubs, venues, volunteers, coaches and officials.
Through the Herts Tennis Foundation we provide opportunities for disability tennis through our large Open Court programme, Women’s & Girl’s tennis development support, and development of school-club links. We work closely with the Herts Schools’ Tennis Association enabling many competitions at all ages and stages along the education pathway.
We are also actively searching for grant funding opportunities to increase participation among communities and in venues where tennis is underserved.
We are passionate about connecting with our Herts Tennis Family via our website, social media channels, regular newsletters and bulletins, network meetings, forums and general meetings, and we welcome feedback.
