Hertfordshire Lawn Tennis Association (“Herts Tennis”) works with the national governing body (the LTA) for the governance and development of tennis activities across the county.
We support tennis venues, the coaching workforce, players, parents, the education sector and community venues in Hertfordshire. We work to get more people playing tennis more often.

Herts Tennis Grants & Loan Scheme
Herts Tennis are pleased to offer a range of grants and interest free loans available to registered venues that meet the criteria, subject to approval. Grants are available for Small Facility Development (for clubs with 4 courts or fewer), Girls into Tennis/Women into Coaching programmes, Disability Tennis Development, Increasing Participation (including match funding for Great British Tennis Weekend/Open Days and Developing School-Club Links. Interest Free loans of up to £5,000, repayable over a five year period are available.

Volunteering in Tennis
Volunteers make tennis happen throughout Britain – they give their time and energy to help more people play tennis and are vital to our game. There are a number of resources to support, recognise and reward volunteering in tennis https://www.lta.org.uk/workforce-venues/tennis-volunteer/

LTA Tennis Awards
Each year, the LTA Tennis Awards highlight the incredible achievements and contributions of people across Britain. Nominations are sought from the public across all areas of tennis and winners are judged first at county level. County winners are then put forward for the Regional Awards, Finally the Regional winners are put forward to the National Awards. Herts LTA Monthly Draw (200 Club)
The County runs a 200 Club to increase the funds available to support tennis at both junior and senior level. The 200 Club is open to all members of affiliated (registered) bodies and to individuals that are interested in supporting the aims of the county. To join the 200 Club and be entered into the monthly prize draw each member pays a subscription of £1 per month or £12 per year which is payable by standing order. A member may increase their chances of winning by holding more shares at £1 per month per share. Each month a draw will take place for prizes for a minimum of £40.00, £30.00, £20.00, £10.00, £10.00 Twice per year there will be a prize of £100.00 In addition to this there is a ballot for members who are also affiliated (registered) to the county via club membership or individually for Wimbledon tickets (paid for separately). Meritorious Service Awards
This award is one of the highest honours given by the LTA. It recognises the substantial contribution made by an individual over their lifetime to tennis at a County, Regional or National level. When making the award the awarding panel use the following criteria:
- An individual who has made a significant impact in tennis over several years in County, Regional or National activities.
- Someone who has helped to provide more opportunities for people to participate in tennis.
- Someone who has developed a legacy in tennis in their County, Region or at a National level.
- An individual who has shown excellent teamwork skills throughout their involvement and been inclusive of people from different backgrounds.
