Last week Herts Tennis in collaboration with Middlesex LTA ran a showcase forum on delivering disability programmes. More than 60 coaches, volunteers, partners and participants attended this very successful event.

The showcase began with an introduction and updates from a number of our partners. After this, everyone moved to the courts to watch and participate in a selection of sessions including wheelchair tennis, Visually Impaired tennis, Learning Disability tennis, Walking Tennis and Para Standing. There was also an opportunity to watch groups from Headway, the Brain Injury Association which provides social and cognitive rehabilitation for adults with brain injury and Access Sport a charity which provides support to community sports clubs in offering inclusive sessions for disabled and disadvantaged young people.

The day was a great opportunity for everyone who attended to see the impact that tennis has and how to support even more people by getting clubs and venues involved.

Our thanks to all the attendees and to our partners, Gosling, Headway, Access Sport, Herts VI player Ivan Rodriguez Deb, Dementia Adventure and Herts Sport & Physical Activity Partnership for their incredible support and hard work in opening tennis up.
