Over 35 Ladies gain promotion to Division 1

Our Herts ladies O35’s team were in action at Eastbourne the first weekend of August. Playing in Group 2, the ladies were looking for a weekend of good matches resulting in promotion to Division 1. Well, they only went and did it, winning all their matches: 3-2 against Kent on Saturday, 4-1 against Sussex on Sunday and 2-0 against Leicestershire on Monday. Well done ladies!

Huge thanks go to Captain Kate Gowar and her team of Kat Dearing, Amanda Elliott, Louise Herbert and Caroline Lacy for their stellar efforts and superb tennis, you’ve done your county proud.

Herts O35 men were playing in Eastbourne this weekend but sadly their efforts didn’t pay off quite so well. Despite a huge effort the team sustained a 3-2 loss to Cheshire on Friday and a 4-1 loss to South Wales on Saturday. Sunday was a better day with a 3-2 win over Middlesex but alas it was not enough to stay in division 2. Nonetheless we look forward to next year and our huge thanks go to the team for giving it their all: captain Ed Corrie, Neil Bamford, David Corrie, Tom Corrie, Jordan Miles and Neil Roskilly.
