County Cup round up for 10Us and 12Us

Our 10U and 12U were out representing the county in qualifying tournaments in May and June.  The 10U teams played County Cup qualies the weekend of the 26th and 27th of May, the boys in Thame, Oxfordshire and the girls in Portsmouth. The 12U teams played qualies the weekend of 30th June and 1st July, the boys in Woking and the girls in North Oxford.

10U

The boys started off the weekend with a win 6-2 over Berkshire but met tough opposition in Surrey unfortunately losing 2-6. On Sunday they had an 8-0 win over Oxfordshire but after a valiant battle with Buckinghamshire went out 2-6 securing a very good 3rd place in the group standings. Good effort boys and  thanks to players Alexandru, Daniel, Rhys and Spencer and coach Chris Martin.

The girl’s matches on the first day were also against Berkshire who they beat 8-0 and Surrey who got the better of them with a win 0-8.  Sunday was a very successful day for them with wins over Oxfordshire 6-2 and Buckinghamshire 8-0 giving them and excellent overall 2nd place in the group.  Well done girls and  thanks to  Arabella, Georgiana, Michaela and Tamara and coach Sammie Williams.

12U

The boys played Berkshire first winning 8-0 followed by matches against Surrey unfortunately going down 0-8.  However Sunday saw a successful day with wins over both Oxfordshire 8-0 and Buckinghamshire 6-2 meaning they finished 2nd place in the group.  Well done boys and  thanks to players Alexander, Elliott, Freddie and Theo and coaches Ben Wilsher and Scott Paxton.

The girls matches on the first day were against Berkshire which resulted in a win of 8-0 and Surrey to whom they narrowly lost 8-10.  A very successful Sunday saw excellent results against Oxfordshire 8-0 and Buckinghamshire 8-0 and this gave them a 2nd place finish in their group as well.  Well done girls and thanks to Hannah, Hephzibah, Jody and Mafalda and coach Ian Zellner.
