Herts Men’s and Ladies’ teams victorious at the Winter County Cup!

Herts Tennis are celebrating after a fabulous weekend of tennis!

Our ladies playing in Sheffield won in group 2a and have gained promotion back to the top division!  The girls had a clean sweep beating Yorkshire on Friday 5-4, Cheshire on Saturday  7-2 and finally Lancashire 5-2 on Sunday.  A huge well done to Captain Alissa Ayling and her team – Mimi Bland, Mollie Crouch, Amanda Elliott, Alex Hildreth, Danielle Latter, Anna Popescu, Indi Spink and Kat Whiteaway.

Our men’s team had a phenomenal weekend winning the CHAMPIONSHIP!  Playing in Bath their path to victory involved wins over Essex 6-3 on Friday , Berkshire 7-2 on Saturday – (this included Neil Bamford beating Marcus Willis who is ranked no. 16 nationally) and on Sunday a 5-4 win over Surrey. A superb effort by Captain Jeff Wayne and his team – Neil Bamford, Charlie Broom, Cip Onufrei, Jake Penny, Josh Rose, Lewis Roskilly, David Stevenson and James Wilkinson.

We really do have the best captains, players and supporters, so proud of you all!!
