Herts U8 teams take silver in the East Region Inter County Red Tournament

At the beginning of March, our Under 8 teams were in Cambridge for the East Region Inter County Red Tournament.  An exciting day of tennis was had by all the players as the Herts teams stepped up in their bid to retain the title.

The boys were very successful in their group finishing top with wins over Cambridgeshire 4-2, Berkshire 5-1, Oxfordshire 6-0 and Northamptonshire 6-0.  This gave them a place in the 1st/2nd place playoff in which they beat Bedfordshire 4-2.  Their final match was against a very strong Essex team to whom they narrowly lost 2-4 bringing in the silver.

The girls also had a very successful time topping their group with incredible 6-0 wins over Berkshire, Norfolk, Bedfordshire and Suffolk. Their first play off match was against Cambridgeshire who they beat 5-1.  Another epic battle with Essex unfortunately saw them edged out by 1 point but still gave them an very good 2nd place finish.  Well done to both our teams, we are so proud of you.
