Bank holiday weekend success for Hertfordshire teams!

The early May bank holiday was a busy time for Hertfordshire teams with both the regional Lionel Cox tournament and the 14U County Cup Qualifying matches taking place.

The annual 10 county Lionel Cox tournament took place at Queenswood with teams in the 9U, 10U and 12U age groups competing against teams from Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Suffolk.  Our Herts players had a wonderful weekend of tennis which culminated in them taking the title!  Well done to our fantastic players and their coaches, André Mouskides, Sarah Jackson. Chris Martin, Tony Staley, Ben Wilsher and Ian Zellner.

Our 14U teams were busy playing at the  14U County Cup qualifying matches.  The boys who were playing at Woodford Wells came top of their group beating Nottinghamshire 6-0, Norfolk 5-1 and Sussex 5-1!  Excellent play boys and we wish you the best of luck for the finals this weekend!  Go Herts!!

The girls had a great weekend in Grantham beating Durham & Cleveland 6-0 and Lincolnshire 6-0 however they were just pipped to the post by Leicester in a 3-3 draw finishing their group in a very good 2nd place. Well done girls!
