Coaching & Club Showcase on Delivering Disability Tennis Programmes
Herts Tennis and Middlesex LTA are excited to announce a joint venture in offering a Coach and Club showcase forum on Delivering Disability Programmes. We will show how your county Open Court Team can support you as clubs and coaches and there will be a wide range of sessions showcasing inclusive tennis. This event is relevant to club committees, volunteers, coaches and external partners interested in how inclusive tennis is delivered.
DATE/TIME: Thursday, 26th March 2026, 10.00am – 1.00pm
VENUE: Gosling Sports Park, Stanborough Road, Welwyn Garden City, AL8 6XE
This forum is FREE of charge for volunteers. There is a £15 fee for coaches Level 3 and
above. Coach credits may be applied for through the LTA Independent Learning portal.
Plan for the day:
- Welcome and outline of the disability tennis support available for clubs and coaches and how to start or grow your disability tennis programmes.
- On court Learning Disabled example session with practical delivery ideas run by Devon Moore (Lead Inclusive coach at Gosling Sports Park) with Q+A session after.
- Wheelchair tennis on court practical session run by Stuart Wilkinson (GB wheelchair coach) with Q+A session after. Attendees are welcome to bring a player they work with.
- Visually Impaired showcase session by world ranked VI player Ivan Debb who recently played in the inaugural Australian Open VI event.
- Walking tennis example session with Headway UK run by Lead County inclusion coach Tatenda Makoni.
- Neurodiversity workshop including on court delivery ideas and strategies with Access Sport lead by Jonny Fenner.
- Networking opportunities
- Light refreshments will be available.

LTA Youth Tennis Leaders Courses, 21st February, 9th April 2026.
The LTA Youth Tennis Leaders Course is aimed at 11 – 18 year olds. The programme provides young people, whatever their tennis ability, with the opportunity to gain valuable leadership skills both on and off the court. This is the first step on a tennis and sports career path for volunteering and paid employment.
The course will cover:
Introduction to leading tennis
Helping at a coaching session and competition
Dates: Saturday 21st February 2026, 9am – 1pm or Thursday 9th April 2026, 9am – 1pm
Venue: Welwyn Tennis Club, 7 Ottway Walk, Welwyn, AL6 9AT

Herts Tennis Coaches Forum
Herts Tennis work with the Herts Tennis Coaches Forum (formerly Working Group) to support all LTA accredited coaches and coaching assistants working in Hertfordshire venues. They are a group of hard working, committed coaches working to provide additional fresh and exciting Continuous Professional Development opportunities for all coaches in our county and beyond as well as providing annual first aid training courses. Forget standing around waiting for your turn to hit a forehand, think dynamic sessions catered for all abilities designed to help kids to learn new life skills developing them both as players and as people.
